NFL Mac Daddy Super Bowl Bets 2011

2011 Super Bowl

Green Bay -3 vs. Pittsburgh, O/U 45

Mac Daddy’s Super Bowl spread is anything but Super. It is Green Bay -1.7. Pretty much a no bet. However, I would advise against that. No bet on the Super Bowl is like no stick in a hockey game. It defeats the purpose. Therefore I would recommend the following:

Under 45 – It doesn’t matter that Super Bowls are usually higher scoring, and it doesn’t matter that they scored over 70 points in their game against each other last year. These defenses will scheme effectively and keep the game under. I should mention I am terrible at picking over/unders.

Super Bowl MVP, Ben Roethlisberger – Ever since his team won the Super Bowl against Seattle despite him Ben has a fairly good track record in the big games, and was surely runner up in the Super Bowl against Arizona. This game could solidify his place in history and I think he will take advantage of it. I should mention that I once declared that he was destined to be the best QB of all time a few games into his career, and that I have a Roethlisberger Jersey in my closet that I have not warn all year because I think there is a good possibility he is a dirt bag.

Pittsburgh to Win – See Super Bowl MVP.

NFL Conference Championships 2011

Mac Daddy's calculations are unfortunately exactly the same as the stated betting odds. His baseless recommendations are Chicago & Pittsburgh. For more info on the baselessness see his other blog post at:

Wild Card Weekend 2011

Wild Card Picks
Seattle +10.5 at home vs. New Orleans (Mac Daddy Line: +4.5)
Green Bay +3 at Philadelphia (MD: pk)
Indianapolis -2.5 at home vs. Jets (MD: -2.5)
Kansas City +3 at home vs. Baltimore (MD: +3)

Seattle is both the worst playoff team in NFL history and the best bet of the week at +10.5 at home. Green Bay is also a nice bet at +3. To maximize your odds of winning the other two, flip a coin.

Week 17

Mac Daddy recommends taking a hiatus in Week 17 due to too many conflicting incentives. For more analysis see Mac Daddy’s post at IQ chart:

Mac Daddy will continue to enter his picks for the playoffs but will do so with low confidence. It is the regular season that matters which in now in the books.

It started with a bang but ended up mediocre, but if mediocre is what you get in a bad year that ain't so bad. The year finished 14-13. Although over .500, this is a losing record from a gamblers perspective, which is the rub after all. Not only do you have to be over .500 but you have to be so by enough to cover the juice.  That is the bad news. The good news is that Mac Daddy recently revamped the system in a way which he believes will improve the performance over the long term and that system would have finished under .500.

If you want to have some fun in Week 17 I recommend staying in on new years and using the money you saved to buy something to entertain yourself, oh, and maybe a small parley on Seattle +3 and Green Bay -10. Seriously…. small.
